Developers are saying it out loud
Verbatim quotes from Hacker News and Reddit, collected October 2026.
"It is nigh-impossible to ask Claude to reliably read a file before writing code."
"My bottleneck isn't the model anymore — it's that I can't effectively provide instructions."
"You end up maintaining .md files, pasting context between chats, and re-explaining your project every time you start a new conversation. Power users spend more time briefing their agents than doing actual work."
"It seems like for agentic coding, just making sure the AI can find the relevant documentation to establish a ground truth is probably sufficient."
The problem isn't your docs. It's that agents can't trust them.
- Your users stopped reading your docs. They ask their coding agent instead — and the agent answers from stale training data.
- Without a machine-readable, citable docs layer, the AI confidently invents APIs: wrong endpoints, parameters that don't exist.
- Hand-maintained
CLAUDE.md/AGENTS.mdfiles rot: they get deprioritized as context fills up, and someone has to re-explain the project every session. - Rolling your own MCP server for docs that change weekly is a maintenance burden no small team asked for — "pain to debug", in the words of one HN user.
What changes with a docs MCP endpoint
Illustrative example — same developer question, answered from the same docs.
Use GET /v2/teams/members?include=roles — the roles param is required.
Neither the endpoint nor the parameter exists. Your support team finds out from an angry ticket.
Use GET /v1/members. (via your MCP server · source: yourdocs.com/api/members)
The answer comes from your docs, with a citation the agent can verify. One less ticket.
Why MCP — not just another llms.txt
We'll be honest: we'll generate llms.txt for you too, but it's a side dish. As Google's John Mueller put it on r/TechSEO: "AFAIK none of the AI services have said they're using LLMs.TXT (and you can tell when you look at your server logs that they don't even check for it)." One HN user summed it up: "Like llms.txt: you add it, and nobody checks."
Coding agents, on the other hand, do speak MCP — it's the one interface Claude Code, Cursor, and every major agent already supports. So we lead with a real MCP endpoint: structured tools the agent can call, citations it can verify, docs that stay in sync.
How it works
Connect your sources
Point it at Notion, Google Docs, a Markdown repo — plus your existing AGENTS.md / CLAUDE.md. No migration, no rewriting.
Get an MCP endpoint
One URL your customers add to their agent. Structured doc tools with citations — plus auto-generated llms.txt as a bonus.
Stays in sync, zero telemetry
Edit docs in your source of truth; the endpoint updates itself. No query logging, no telemetry — with a local-first option for teams that won't send docs to someone else's cloud.
On trust: after a post titled "Anthropic embedded spyware in Claude Code" blew up on r/ClaudeAI, the message is clear — developers don't want their docs, or their agents' queries, phoning home. We heard it.
